Visiting Nottingham for the first time? Whether for business or pleasure there is plenty to see and do in this city labelled “Queen of the Midlands”.
The legendary figure of Robin Hood resonates with most people around the world and a visit to Nottingham Castle is where probably you should begin. Follow that up with a trip to Sherwood Forest and its Visitor Centre where the history of this character unfolds.
In Nottingham City you will find a multitude of restaurants to suit all tastes and some interesting, quintessentially English, “Pubs” where fine beers and ales can be enjoyed. Boasting to be the Oldest Inn in England is the “Trip to Jerusalem” which has become something of a magnet to those visiting our city.
Outside of Nottingham enjoy the splendour of “Wollaton Hall” and the adjoining park or stray further to explore the beauty and splendour of Chatsworth House just over the border in neighbouring Derbyshire.
For the sports fans, depending on the time of year, Nottingham is home to probably one of the finest cricket grounds in the country at Trent Bridge, the oldest football league club in the world, Notts County at Meadow Lane and Nottingham Forest Football Club once managed by the iconic figure of Mr Brian Clough.
